This is a wonderful centre. The teachers work hard to care for each child, and the staff have a commitment to the day care's philosophy of following the children's interests, instead of enforcing rotating themes on the kids (which is much more like young children learn at home). The kids call their projects - art, Lego creations, etc. - "my work" and they are very proud of it. The basics are all there - there is cleanliness, good nutrition, no junk food, outdoor play, and quiet/nap time. The children are treated with respect, voices are not raised, and yet there are no major behavioral problems. The centre becomes like a family/community for the children and parents. I have seen other day cares, baby-sitters, elementary schools, and preschools, and wish they could all be like Peter Green Hall! Also, they provided my child many things that we could not have provided on our own, as we are not experts in child development, and because the centre is very multicultural. Thank you!
